Examination of sites in the vicinity of Carlsbad, New Mexico, has revealed evidence of extensive usage of the area by prehistoric peoples. However none of the sites show evidence of either permanent occupation or even long-term occupation. Cultural materials recovered from these sites, including the materials in private collections, indicates marked variations reflecting the region’s use over time by a variety of peoples.Description:
